April 22, 2021 To my Rainbow Baby, Henry, Today, you are ten weeks old! You’re officially in double digits!! Time is going warp speed and I’m looking at the calendar realizing I only have 3 weeks of maternity leave left. I’m already dreading having to leave you for 8 hours a day, even if I only have to do it for 9 days when my leave ends. Getting to spend my days with you has been the highlight of my life, even if we just hang out at home and snuggle in the Boba wrap while Mommy does laundry. I never have to miss a big moment as you grow and change, and when I go back to work, I know that may happen and I’m not excited about it. So I’m gonna keep snuggling you and soaking up this time every single day because I know the next 3 weeks will fly by, and so will the summer. It will be August before we know it, and then I’ll be back to work full time. I’m going to make every day of this time count! You had a new adventure this week- we took you to a restaurant while we went out to eat ...

April 15, 2021 To my Rainbow Baby, Henry, Today, you are nine weeks old! You are still growing like a weed, little man! We had your two month check up this week, and you gained another pound and a half since the last time we were there! You officially weigh in the double digits, and jumped from the 5th percentile to the 13th! You are still a little peanut, but all we care about is that you are gaining weight, growing and thriving. I am so thankful to God that you are healthy and happy, and I pray that you continue to be. You also had your two month shots at the doctor, and you were not impressed! Thankfully, the nurse got them down super quick, and once Mommy scooped you up, you calmed down. But you were extra fussy throughout the day, so I soaked up all the snuggles I could get to keep you peaceful. You mostly napped on me all day long, and I loved every second of it! The good news is that you will be able to venture out and about a little bit more now that you have this first round o...

April 11, 2021 To my Rainbow Baby, Henry, Today, you are two months old! I cannot stand how fast time is flying. I cannot stand how quickly you are growing. You have now been our whole world for 8 weeks, for 59 days. I can’t even remember what life was like before you arrived. It seems like a lifetime ago! Your daddy was even asking me if I remember how to do my job! Honestly, between the whirlwind of your birth and this crazy school year, I really don’t! Thinking about all that has happened this school year- the pandemic, the constant shifts in how we’re doing school, the strike, and now maternity leave- I cannot believe we’re still in the same school year. I literally have no concept of time right now, which just makes it even crazier that you are already 2 months old. You are getting so big, sweet boy! You are getting more personality everyday, smiling at your people, exploring all the things around you. You’re holding yourself up and getting stronger during Tummy Time, you lo...

April 1, 2021 To my Rainbow Baby, Henry, Today, you are seven weeks old! You are growing like crazy, baby boy!!! We had our follow up with the pediatrician and lactation consultant yesterday, and you gained one and a half pounds since we started supplementing your feeds!! I am overjoyed that you are thriving and healthy, and I am happy that what we have been doing is working for all of us. When we worked with the lactation consultant, it seemed that you were transferring more during feeds than you had been when we started, so you are doing better eating and momma’s supply looks like it is increasing. Praise God that everything is getting on track!! I pray that we continue in this positive direction with all of these things. This week, we said goodbye to Gram and Pops Miller after their extended stay to get to meet you. It has been so nice for them to be such a big part of the beginning of your life, and to have the extra help at home as we adjust to life as parents. We will see them ag...
